I’m accumulating hand drawn and digital drawings. Sometimes they can be cut up and rearranged to make an alternate meaning that’s totally different from its original state. Old images can be given a second chance.

A yam on the wall is still a yam on the wall. It’s tightly cropped. It’s an example of alternate meanings. It’s part of a zine in progress.

5-27-18. At the LA Zine Fest.
A zine is like a simple book or pamphlet with a very limited print run. They are very popular in the art and design world and Mount Zine is a Japanese shop that specializes in Japanese zines. Their home is Meguro, Tokyo and they travelled to Pasadena, CA to set up a booth. Pretty good.
5-28-18. Fujio Kito.
I picked this up at Mount Zine’s booth at the LA Zine Fest. This is volume 5 from the series called Playground Equipment by photographer Fujio Kito. He captures cement-molded structures that are apparently commonplace in Japananese playgrounds but through his lens at night have a dramatic appeal.
