9:18 AM, Altadena, CA. Filling the gap between Renaissance Tapestries and Cowboy Culture with a chihuahua. “Yo quiero Taco Bell” was the slogan from the Taco Bell Restaurant ad campaign and the Chihuahua was the mascot.

#624, 12:10 AM. Playing with chainsaws can be dangerous as shown by this poor guy. The statue was at the Asian Museum in San Francisco, a recommended visit for those of you interested in Eastern culture. It’s a must stop for me whenever I’m in the Bay area.

#619, 8:25 PM. A bag over a head reminds me of a character on a television talent show in the 80’s called The Gong Show. The show had a character called the Unknown Comic because a grocery bag covered his head and features that also crudely hid his identity. He was loud and brash and some viewers probably found him to be obnoxious. Bags on the heads can be memorable and my anti-hero triggered this memory.

2:18 PM, Altadena, CA. This can be called an “Impromptu Sculpture”. It happens to be one of a lot of Impromptus that have entertained me lately. This poor guy was caught in the mechanical jaws of a commonplace office tool, the subliminal message of what can happen when office duties overtake us.

9:45 AM, Los Angeles, CA. Powerfully mundane, everyday objects, or found sculpture. This handmade wood box was next to a temporary structure near the entrance to a museum in LA’s Exposition Park. I had no idea its purpose or use. It lacked markings, locks and hinges. It just sat there and I just liked it.
