11:38 AM, Altadena, CA. Once again, here’s a hybrid or my process of cannibalizing my work to make new pieces. I wanted to combine the dog picture with my first digital iPad drawing of Haruki Murakami’s novel called Norwegian Wood.

4:57 PM, Altadena, CA. When I saw my snapshot of the octopus, I vividly remembered the craziness of the Tsukiji Market. The place was a surreal mix of frantic activity and bizarre sea animals of every size and shape. The digital drawing of the paperback book seemed to sum up the seafood market experience.

5:06 PM, Altadena, CA. When I refer to the term “Cannibals” in my work, I’m referring to the reuse of my paintings, photos and drawings. The results are visual hybrids, transformations, alterations and mutations. These hybrids can lead to further “cannibalization” by serving as parts of larger paintings later on.

3:40 PM, Altadena, CA. It was a marriage made in heaven by bringing two disparate objects together in pure visual synchronicity. I liked the couple because their sizes and shapes had fit perfectly. It looked like this one was about “Cannibals Mexican Style”.
