A sketchbook is like a closet. This has a lot of room so the storage for ideas will not be a problem.

12-17-18. Another Way to Read.
I make sketchbooks for various reasons but mainly because they function as excellent portable diaries. This particular book focuses on just my collage works and the works are made from remnants of my older drawings. So here are the first three pages.
6-20-18. Pages in a Sketchbook.
For me, a recycle signifies a second chance. These pages are made of reference printouts that have been cut up and rearranged.
5-31-18. Sketchbook.
I’m accumulating hand drawn and digital drawings. Sometimes they can be cut up and rearranged to make an alternate meaning that’s totally different from its original state. Old images can be given a second chance.
9-14-17. Experiment.
I’m thinking about drawing but without using the usual tools like a pencil or pen. So, I decided on corks and a stamp pad. It’s a work in progress.

Observation, X, and Cintiq. Okay, an observational Cintiq drawing of an album cover from my collection of albums. X was important to the LA punk music scene. They had an interesting audio and visual aesthetic. My old version of Photoshop and ancient MacBook worked well with the state of the art Cintiq so I’d have to say “Very nice!”

Patterns, Stripes, and Cintiq. I placed a yardstick on the screen to draw the lines. The lines have an irregular regularity to them. “Nice again.”

Patterns, Drips, and Cintiq. I got a chance to mess around with the Cintiq 2400 by Wacom. One weekend only, so I had to draw quickly and did three in a day. The advantage of this device is that you draw on and see everything on the Cintiq screen. This screen happened to be big, way big. “Nice.”

Another fictional character using an iPhone picture and an iPad. The Cloud made this easy.

A view of our "C" building on the east side of campus. I took a photo of the trees and then extended the branches to form a pattern that I found appealing. Looking again at this, the tree seems to reference a peacock's tail.
